However, one CIO that I really needed to speak with never responded. I even went at him from a few totally different angles â" nothing. I had nearly given up. However, as I was driving down the highway last week, he called me. It was totally sudden, and caught me off guard. I say this to show that I was âunreadyâ to need to conversation. As such, we just talked â" which I think was a greater approach to should dialog. I had told him I was not looking for a job, however really wanted to connect and speak. However, the more we talked, the more particular the questions became. We ended the conversation with him saying he needed me to speak with someone h e had just hired, and who wanted some assist. I had the interview with this VP (the one who needed the help) on Monday. It went extremely well, and again, it was just a dialog. None of the high-strain, weed out the candidates type of interview.
